Power Thinking

It's easy to go around thinking things will never get better. We draw in what we constantly think about.  Think power thoughts.

Victory starts in our minds. Success and new levels start with our thinking.

No weapon formed against me will prosper. Favor is surrounding me like a shield. I've been armed with strength for every battle.

Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.
Proverbs 4:23 NKJV

Pay attention to what your dwelling on. Don't think about any thought that enters your mind.

If you can be defeated in your thoughts you can be defeated in life. Pay attention to what's going on in your mind.

God had already promised the Israelites the land but they came back with weak thoughts.

God spoke to Moses: "Send men to scout out the country of Canaan that I am giving to the People of Israel. Send one man from each ancestral tribe, each one a tried-and-true leader in the tribe." They presented themselves before Moses and Aaron and the whole congregation of the People of Israel in the Wilderness of Paran at Kadesh. They reported to the whole congregation and showed them the fruit of the land. Then they told the story of their trip: "We went to the land to which you sent us and, oh! It does flow with milk and honey! Just look at this fruit! The only thing is that the people who live there are fierce, their cities are huge and well fortified. Worse yet, we saw descendants of the giant Anak. Amalekites are spread out in the Negev; Hittites, Jebusites, and Amorites hold the hill country; and the Canaanites are established on the Mediterranean Sea and along the Jordan." Caleb interrupted, called for silence before Moses and said, "Let's go up and take the land—now. We can do it." But the others said, "We can't attack those people; they're way stronger than we are." They spread scary rumors among the People of Israel. They said, "We scouted out the land from one end to the other—it's a land that swallows people whole. Everybody we saw was huge. Why, we even saw the Nephilim giants (the Anak giants come from the Nephilim). Alongside them we felt like grasshoppers. And they looked down on us as if we were grasshoppers."
Numbers 13:1‭-‬2‭, ‬27‭-‬33 MSG

Joshua and Caleb saw the same thing that the other 10 spies saw. 10 men infected the rest of the people.

Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.
II Corinthians 2:14 NKJV

Don't look at how big the problem is look at how big God is

Behold, the Lord 's hand is not shortened, That it cannot save; Nor His ear heavy, That it cannot hear. So shall they fear The name of the Lord from the west, And His glory from the rising of the sun; When the enemy comes in like a flood, The Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him.
Isaiah 59:1‭, ‬19 NKJV

Negative news spreads faster than positive news.

God spoke strongly to me, grabbed me with both hands and warned me not to go along with this people. He said: "Don't be like this people, always afraid somebody is plotting against them. Don't fear what they fear. Don't take on their worries. If you're going to worry, worry about The Holy. Fear God -of-the-Angel-Armies. The Holy can be either a Hiding Place or a Boulder blocking your way, The Rock standing in the willful way of both houses of Israel, A barbed-wire Fence preventing trespass to the citizens of Jerusalem. Many of them are going to run into that Rock and get their bones broken, Get tangled up in that barbed wire and not get free of it."
Isaiah 8:11‭-‬15 MSG

Be on the offensive when negative news comes your way.

Pastor Joel rides a bike trail often that usually takes an hour. Most of the trail is flat but there's a hill that he dreads sometimes he says negativethings like this is going to be hard, I don't want to take this hill. Once he was on the phone and went up the hill without realizing it because he was distracted.

How many times are we telling ourselves what we can't do. We're dreading things thinking weak defeating thoughts when we've been equipped with everything we need.

At the start of the day decide what you want to think before you check your phone or read email.

Think thoughts on purpose.

O Lord , do good to those who are good, whose hearts are in tune with you.
Psalms 125:4 NLT

Your thoughts are setting the limits for your life.

Don't believe lies.

Instead of shame and dishonor, you will enjoy a double share of honor. You will possess a double portion of prosperity in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours.
Isaiah 61:7 NLT

(Saul's son Jonathan had a son named Mephibosheth, who was crippled as a child. He was five years old when the report came from Jezreel that Saul and Jonathan had been killed in battle. When the child's nurse heard the news, she picked him up and fled. But as she hurried away, she dropped him, and he became crippled.)
2 Samuel 4:4 NLT

Sometimes well meaning people can hurt you. But that didn't erase his lineage. He was still the son of a king.

Lo-debar was also considered a ghetto town in biblical times. He went from the palace to the ghetto.

Lo-debar [N] no pasture, ( 2 Samuel 17:27 ), a town in Gilead not far from Mahanaim, north of the Jabbok ( 2 Samuel 9:4 2 Samuel 9:5 ). It is probably identical with Debir ( Joshua 13:26 ). p

The king then asked him, "Is anyone still alive from Saul's family? If so, I want to show God's kindness to them." Ziba replied, "Yes, one of Jonathan's sons is still alive. He is crippled in both feet." "Where is he?" the king asked. "In Lo-debar," Ziba told him, "at the home of Makir son of Ammiel." So David sent for him and brought him from Makir's home. His name was Mephibosheth ; he was Jonathan's son and Saul's grandson. When he came to David, he bowed low to the ground in deep respect. David said, "Greetings, Mephibosheth." Mephibosheth replied, "I am your servant." "Don't be afraid!" David said. "I intend to show kindness to you because of my promise to your father, Jonathan. I will give you all the property that once belonged to your grandfather Saul, and you will eat here with me at the king's table!" Mephibosheth bowed respectfully and exclaimed, "Who is your servant, that you should show such kindness to a dead dog like me?"
2 Samuel 9:3‭-‬8 NLT

Get rid of that dead dog thinking.
