Today’s challenge is Macro and Micro goals. Micro goals focus on what time and macro goals focus on what day. I generally make Macro goals all the time but I have never made micro goals for myself. In true Jeniro-style, I'm creating a graphic calendar. Sure, writing it would be faster but my way is more fun.

Today’s challenge is about fun. Jon is challenging us to add an element of fun to my goal. As much as I love fun, the Day 4 challenge really got me stuck. I googled "fun ways to increase facebook followers" while rendering a video for Escape From Poverty (because rendering seems endless). The top hit went to 4 Fun Ways to Improve Your Facebook Engagement By Cas McCullough. He suggests 4 games to engage followers. I like the concept. I'll have to think of a game that will suit ByJRochelle and me! I'd like for the game to include pictures.

"If you want to get something done, don’t just trust your hard work, trust your HOW work too." Today’s assignment is to write down three answers to this question: HOW will you accomplish your goal?" I won't share those answers here, but be sure to click here so that you can like the ByJRochelle Facebook page to experience the answers for yourself.

A week or so ago, I was flipping through Instagram ( Click here to follow me or my company) and I came across a post from Jon Acuff inviting his followers to the 30 Days of Hustle. I was introduced to Jon Acuff through a friend who fashioned her own "challenge", Dream JumpStart, based on his book Start.
I still don't know all the details but this is Day 1; this is actually day 3 I am only just realizing that he started sending e-mails so I'm playing catch up! I'm supposed write one personal goal and post it somewhere that I will see it. My plan is to post it on my social media because I look at my own pictures and blogs the most; I'm also a graphic designer so why not create something visually cool for my own goal right?
So here's my goal! Double the amount of followers on my Business Page.
On this day of Hustle, Jon wants us to "establish a "WHY" goal too. He says that a "why goal" serves as the heart of the reason that I actually want to accomplish my goal. I want to double my Business Facebook followers so that I can reach more potential customers. I want to reach more potential customers so that I can increase my clientele. I want to increase my clientele so that I can grow my business. I want to contribute more financial means to my family through my business. My family=My husband (for now). When I told my husband my "what goal", he was impressed which gave me more motivation. I only told him the "double facebook followers" part.

In case you didn't know, Jeniro loves Beyoncé and pretty much every song she sings. When Destiny's Child first hit the scene, it made me proud that a quality group stepped out to represent Houston in the entertainment sphere. When the girls set out on their own, I supported them equally as much. As a fan, you must know that I keep up with news about my girls. In today's news, the infamous "eat the cake" line continues to fill up the news feed and so far, I have failed to find one article supporting Beyoncé. So I will add some support right now! Gustave Flaubert once said that there is not truth, there is only perception. So here is what I perceive. For starters, Drunk in Love is a song from Beyoncé's self-titled album, Beyoncé. In case you have lived underneath a rock, check out the song below.
Now as a fan, I have grown accustom to the 2 mixing controversial cultural references into their lyrics. So it didn't shock me when I heard allusions to such icons as Mike Tyson and Ike Turner.I rather enjoyed the lines; English was always my favorite subject. The controversial line that everyone seems to be stuck on is, "I'm Ike Turner, turn up, baby, no, I don't play Now eat the cake, Anna Mae said, "Eat the cake, Anna Mae!" This line alludes to a scene in "What's Love Got to Do with It", a 1993 American biopic film directed by Brian Gibson, loosely based on the life of Tina Turner. Here is the scene.
Jay-Z is the Enabler of Beyoncé's Bad Behavior and Vice Versa
The roadie said "eat the cake Anna Mae'" not her abusive husband, Ike Turner. He asked her to eat the cake because he didn't want anymore trouble. From the movie, it appears that those around Tina Turner aided in enabling the bad behavior of Ike Turner. Throughout the song we find that Beyoncé is drunk and when Jay-Z enters we find that he has been drinking too since D'USSÉ (VSOP Cognac) is the "best". As a married couple they both know what happens when the other drinks alcohol and they do it willingly, enabling the "bad" behavior of one another. #WhoMad
According to the urban dictionary, "eat the cake" is synonymous to oral sex performed on a woman. Following this logic, Jay-Z would be Anna Mae.
I consider myself conservative but let's not become concerned with decorum or propriety, significantly in excess of normal prevailing community standards. This song sounds like a colorful description of sex
between a married couple and I really like this song. This clearly
represents a joke and the two are clearly happy.
I talked to someone recently about my struggles in finding a job. That person has worked with me on a number of video projects and said that I don't seem excited about media production. I was taken back by that because media production is how I spend most of my time: I have to communication degrees, I work in media, and I volunteer in media. If I just wanted to kill time there are a number of things in the world to choose from, and this is what I choose. But then when I thought about it, I remembered that this isn't the first time I've heard something similar.
I worked at Sears a while back and my manager would consistently give me a 1 out of 5 in enthusiasm. That really hurt my feelings because I worked really hard. I could keep up an area with no help, if I closed my area was always clean and organized as opposed to ALL other areas that would need everyone to pitch in so things would look presentable. I could smile and laugh all day long and appear enthusiastic but I don't see how that over shadows my work. People are always saying that non-verbal communication is 95% or some ridiculous number of communication but that's because people are too lazy to dig deeper. It isn't because people say more with their bodies.
At that same Sears job, one day there was a young lady who clearly had a sad demeanor. Even though her body language may have said that she didn't want to be at work, she was at work. She did everything that she was supposed to do. She greeted customers, she offered credit apps, and etc. Still several customers reported that she had "an attitude problem". The manager observed her demeanor and basically agreed and sent the young lady home. If anyone had bothered to talk to her, then they would have learned that her mother, father, and brother had been killed in a car accident a few days prior. To add to that, she was given custody of her only surviving brother. She didn't have a sad demeanor because she didn't want to be at work and she didn't have an attitude problem. If anyone had bothered to scratch beneath the surface then they would have learned the truth. I know a lot of people may wonder why she didn't tell anyone and blame her saying that she should have been transparent about the situation. I refuse to blame her. It isn't her fault that someone else made a judgement based on a shallow observation.
Thankfully, nothing that tragic has happened to me. But I don't think it's fair that people expect me to express myself the way that they express themselves. I show enthusiasm by investing my time and even if I tell you that with a straight face and a steady voice it doesn't make it any less valuable that your expression.
