Healthy eating is the key to having beautiful young looking skin. Here are the top 10 foods for skin put together by Simon Lovell, media expert and author

1. Avocado
The avocado is known for its numerous properties that benefit the skin. It contains many healthy fats that plump up the skin and smooth away the dryness. Avocados have the highest content of vitamin E when compared with other fruits, which is a powerful antioxidant that helps strengthen the white blood cells.
2. Berries
Strawberries, blackberries and blueberries are all good for the skin because of their high antioxidant content. These 3 berries have been found to have the highest antioxidant capacity of any foods. They produce collagen which keeps the skin smooth and plump.
3. Low Fat Yoghurt
Low fat yoghurt is rich in one of the most important components of skin health – Vitamin A. Experts have stated that the health of skin cells is largely dependant on how much Vitamin A is present in our diets.
4. Broccoli
Broccoli is a vegetable that contains an abundance of health benefits, and is good for the skin. Broccoli is high in Vitamin A and thus promotes good turnover of skin cells. Eating broccoli can help to renew skin cells quickly making your skin look fresher.

Whole-grains are rich in the mineral Selenium, which is why they promote healthy skin. Selenium has been shown to reduce skin damage after prolonged exposure to the sun. High levels of selenium in your system prevents your skin from oxidative damage that can increase cancer risks.

8. Non-Starchy Vegetables

Non-starchy vegetables are high a fibre and bolster your age-defying bacteria. If you have blotchy or tired skin this can often be due to a lack of fibre. Lack of fibre can lead to disrupted digestion that stops nutrients from being absorbed properly. This starves your skin of the nutrients it needs to look younger and healthier.

The health benefits of a diet based mainly on non-starchy vegetables are endless. In fact, a UK study has shown that adopting a diet consisting of only liquid diet drinks and non-starchy vegetables has been shown to reverse diabetes and cure the condition in just 3 months. Because they are non-starchy, they do not affect blood glucose.
Common non-starchy vegetables include carrots, broccoli, sprouts, celery, asparagus, cucumber, tomatoes, onions, peppers, lettuce, beets and watercress.
9. Green Tea
The health properties of green tea are vast. The list of skin benefits that green tea provides goes on and on. Green tea, whether consumed as a drink or applied to the skin, can decrease risk of damage from the sun and thus lessen the risk of skin cancer.

Investigative Parenting

As a parent, it is our job to first and foremost insure the safety of our children. While some people think that snooping into the affairs of their child is not a great idea, there are some people who would do anything to make sure that their children are safe. If this means a little snooping action, then so be it. Our children depend on us to make sure that they are safe and protected. While they will probably argue about that statement, the truth is that no matter how much they act as if they don't like us, they really want to know that we will always protect them. It doesn't matter the age either. A child is a child forever.

If your child is staying the night with a particular friend a lot, you might want to know exactly who the parents of that friend are. Are they safe? Should you trust them with your child? These are things that we cannot necessarily find out by simply meeting the parents. What if your child has been talking to a strange person on the telephone? Do you want to know that the person they are talking to is safe? This is something that a lot of parents have to deal with as technology advances. With the addition of social friend sites, chat rooms and other online things, a parent wants to make sure their child is safe at all times.

If you have someone's name, e-mail address or their cell phone number, you can find out what kind of person they are. All you have to do is visit one of the criminal records database sites and type this information in to your computer. You will instantly be provided with information about this person, from civil court records to criminal records and even marriage certificates. In some cases, you can find out information about their family members as well. This certainly helps make sure that the person your child is around is safe for them to be associating with.

No matter how you slice it, our children are our most precious possession. While some may feel that snooping into a child's business is not a great idea, others would say that their child's safety is first priority. If you have a bad feeling, or just want to make sure the people that surround your child are safe, simply visit one of these sites and get the information you need to make an educated decision about your child's friends or their parents. Knowing that your child is safe is a feeling that every parent should have. The great thing is that your kid doesn't even have to know that you've gone snooping. Save the time with your child for fun and bonding, and avoid fights and arguments by simply checking out the people your child knows. You don't have to give them the third degree in order to be sure that they are safe.

Is Your Child Going to be Riding with Someone You Don't Know?

It happens every single day. Your child's friend wants him or her to stay the night, so that friend's parent comes to pick them up. Maybe your child is being watched by a babysitter that drives or any other situation where your child may be riding along with someone else. Do you know how they drive? Do you know if they have ever had tickets for speeding or running a red light, or if they have had a DUI? This is pretty scary to think about.

How do you really know what is going on when your child is in the car with someone else? It would certainly help you be a better judge if you knew what was on that person's driving record, wouldn't it? You're not going to come out and ask them because even if there are some shady spots on their record, they're probably not going to admit it to you. There is a way you can tell exactly what is on a person's driving record and whether or not they have had a DUI or other driving offense. Simply by visiting a site like www.WebInvestigator.com, you are able to type in a person's name and get access to important records just like this.

You can find out if this is a safe person with whom to let your child ride. That's right. You don't need any sort of special information like a Social Security number, birth date, or anything else. Simply by typing in the name and the state, you can get access to the records you need to tell whether or not your child will be riding in a safe vehicle. That's not the only information you can receive, however. You are able to find out if the person has ever been convicted of a misdemeanor or a felony. There are so many nice people who are hiding secrets that you would never dream of.

There are parents who have let their children go with a particular person, thinking everything would be perfectly safe. Now those parents spend every day of their lives wishing they had double-checked, or they had told their children they couldn't go. You never, ever want to be one of these parents. Regardless of how nice someone seems, and how responsible they may sound, do your homework. Don't let your child leave with them until you know for sure how safe they are.

Knowing is very important when you're a parent, and it is essential to keep your children safe. If you have ever needed information about a person's driving record, or if your child frequently rides with parents of other children, this website will be invaluable to you. If you have ever needed to find out information about a person's past, this website will provide you with that information. In fact, it just might help you prevent a tragedy.

My Mountain Responds to My Voice

Pastor Joel!

1. Mark 11:22 Jesus was matter-of-fact: "Embrace this God-life. Really embrace it, 23 and nothing will be too much for you. This mountain, for instance: Just say, 'Go jump in the lake'—no shuffling or shilly-shallying—and it's as good as done. 24 That's why I urge you to pray for absolutely everything, ranging from small to large. Include everything as you embrace this God-life, and you'll get God's everything. 25 And when you assume the posture of prayer, remember that it's not all asking. If you have anything against someone, forgive—only then will your heavenly Father be inclined to also wipe your slate clean of sins." His Credentials

° Mountains are big and you usually can't see past them. If you start speaking to the mountain, it'll move. When I speak words of faith, things start happening in the Spiritual realm.

2. Matthew 21:18 Early the next morning Jesus was returning to the city. He was hungry. 19 Seeing a lone fig tree alongside the road, he approached it anticipating a breakfast of figs. When he got to the tree, there was nothing but fig leaves. He said, "No more figs from this tree—ever!" The fig tree withered on the spot, a dry stick. 20 The disciples saw it happen. They rubbed their eyes, saying, "Did we really see this? A leafy tree one minute, a dry stick the next?" 21 But Jesus was matter-of-fact: "Yes—and if you embrace this kingdom life and don't doubt God, you'll not only do minor feats like I did to the fig tree, but also triumph over huge obstacles. This mountain, for instance, you'll tell, 'Go jump in the lake,' and it will jump. 22 Absolutely everything, ranging from small to large, as you make it a part of your believing prayer, gets included as you lay hold of God." True Authority

° When Jesus spoke to the tree, nothing happened IMMEDIATELY but something started happening in that tree's root system and the next day it had died!

° You don't ASK it, you COMMAND it!

° A lot of times we talk ABOUT the mountain, but not TO it! When you talk ABOUT the mountain, you magnify the mountain (or make it SEEM bigger than it really is.

3. I Samuel 17:26 David, who was talking to the men standing around him, asked, "What's in it for the man who kills that Philistine and gets rid of this ugly blot on Israel's honor? Who does he think he is, anyway, this uncircumcised Philistine, taunting the armies of God-Alive?"

°David was not focused on the size of his giant.

4. I Samuel 17:26 David, who was talking to the men standing around him, asked, "What's in it for the man who kills that Philistine and gets rid of this ugly blot on Israel's honor? Who does he think he is, anyway, this uncircumcised Philistine, taunting the armies of God-Alive?" 46 This very day God is handing you over to me. I'm about to kill you, cut off your head, and serve up your body and the bodies of your Philistine buddies to the crows and coyotes. The whole earth will know that there's an extraordinary God in Israel. 47 And everyone gathered here will learn that God doesn't save by means of sword or spear. The battle belongs to God—he's handing you to us on a platter!"

° David spoke to his giant about the power he had through God!!!!

5. Genesis 1:1 First this: God created the Heavens and Earth—all you see, all you don't see. 2 Earth was a soup of nothingness, a bottomless emptiness, an inky blackness. God's Spirit brooded like a bird above the watery abyss. 3 God spoke: "Light!" And light appeared.

° God didn't just think, "I wish there was light." He spoke, and then it was!

° SPEAK light in the middle of darkness.

6. Zechariah 4:6 "This is God's Message to Zerubbabel: 'You can't force these things. They only come about through my Spirit,' says God-of-the-Angel-Armies. 7 'So, big mountain, who do you think you are? Next to Zerubbabel you're nothing but a molehill. He'll proceed to set the Cornerstone in place, accompanied by cheers: Yes! Yes! Do it!'" 8 After that, the Word of God came to me: 9 "Zerubbabel started rebuilding this Temple and he will complete it. That will be your confirmation that God-of-the-Angel-Armies sent me to you.

° God knows how to get you to where you need to be.

° My mountain responds to my voice!

Set Aside EVERY Weight

Marcos Witt
September 5, 2010

Get Rid of the Weight That's Keeping us From Getting to the Finish Line

Heb 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

° Undisciplined
Discipline: controlled behavior. Associated with being teachable and accountable.
1 Cor 9:24: You've all been to the stadium and seen the athletes race. Everyone runs; one wins. Run to win.

° Unfocused
Keep your eyes on the prize (not circumstances, the news, other people's opinions, etc...)
Heb 12:2: Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we're in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God—he could put up with anything along the way: cross, shame, whatever. And now he's there, in the place of honor, right alongside God.
Olympian who dropped the torch.

° Uncommitted
Commitment: sticktuitiveness
Proverbs 15:6 The lives of God-loyal people flourish; a misspent life is soon bankrupt.

° Sin: My personal stuff that I don't really share with anyone.
Psalm 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

Dare To Dream

Lakewood August 15, 2010

Marcos Witt

"I dare you to walk on the water"

Matthew 14:25-29

"If Peter lived in 2010, he'd be a Texan!"

"Dare to dream it."
Peter saw Jesus do it and thought that he could do it too!
If you could dream then you can do it.

E.g. Martin Luther King Jr. & Joel Osteen

When you stand up in the boat, it's going to make people nervous because things are going to start shaking.
John: the beloved...Probably thinking why does he think he gets to do the special thing, I'm the special one. But in response, you say you deserve to dream and do special things too, even if you aren't KNOWN as the "special one".
Matthew:
Judas: Treasury...Probably thinking, one less person= one less person to support financially. Sometimes people will cheer you on for the wrong reason. But it doesn't matter why they are cheering, you go out there and get it done.

"Dare to Ask"
James 4:2...have not because you ask not...
Matthew 7:7...ask for what you need..

"Dare to Risk It"
2 Corinthians 5:7...
It's NOT just the thought that counts when God speaks.
Don't just sit there and row in a boat:
Self-Pity
Excuses
Low Self- Esteem
Bad Attitude
Whining
